Personally I am extremely grateful to be living in this great country - as imperfect as it is! What great good fortune to be here! And in a reasonably healthy state in a very pretty setting by the beautiful, still natural, Upper Delaware River region - with food on the table and in the "larder" (so to speak)(not that I would ever have exactly a "larder!") and plenty of heat eminating from the big, handsome, old wood stove. Sometimes it's the simplest things one must be grateful for - and that's good enough. I'm also grateful that I don't have to worry about a war raging about me - or famine, drought or dangerous flooding or, for the moment, fracking! It's still fairly pristine around here and thank God the town has, amazingly enough, banned drilling for oil or gas! (There are a few enlightened souls around - not many - but a few - and I'm grateful for them, too!)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Debby and families! Enjoy the famous Viola Isaacs blueberry pie!!
As ever,
Joan.
(I see that I've put an exclamation point after just about every sentence! - Ah, well - whadayagunna do?, as my old Italian neighbor used to say - Amateur writer!)Joan Rosenfelthttp://www.isleepless.comnoreply@blogger.com
